Supporting Humanitarian Efforts in Ukraine
Some of you may know Nick, our retired Managing Director, from his many years at the helm of Ashby. As we briefly shared earlier this year, he has been actively involved in humanitarian relief efforts since the start of the war in Ukraine; initially assisting with refugee transport at the Polish border, and more recently working deeper within the country.
While his work continues independently of Ashby Trade Sign Supplies, we’re proud to have recently converted what is hopefully the first of a small fleet of vehicles at our factory as a proof of concept. This vehicle will serve as a template for how a Mitsubishi Shogun can be adapted into a single-patient ambulance. It is a small but practical contribution to a situation where medical resources are stretched.
We won’t be documenting his work in detail, but we still receive the occasional phone call from sign trade folk looking to catch up. Hopefully this post helps explain why he's not often available. We remain proud of his efforts and wish him safe travels as he continues this work.
Christmas shutdown info (and a big thank you)
Plan your signage projects around Ashby’s Christmas 2025 shutdown. Check last order dates for each lead-time, the final same-day despatch on 17 December and when we reopen in early January.
