How to Assemble and Mount a 76mm Post Extension
This guide covers the assembly and installation of our 76mm Post Extension, available in Traffic Grey, RAL 9016 White, 9005 Black, or mill finish. Ashby Trade Sign Supplies’ 76mm Post Extension allows you to increase the height of existing sign posts, giving extra clearance for signage or supporting additional panels. Designed for quick and secure fitting, the extension slots neatly into place and clamps tight with a grub screw. Follow the instructions below for a smooth installation.

Tools & Parts Required
76mm Post Extension (supplied)
Grub screw (supplied, pre-fitted)
Allen key or suitable tool for tightening grub screw
Post cap or finial (existing or new, as required)
Step-by-Step Assembly Instructions
1. Prepare the Existing Post
Remove any existing post cap or finial from the top of the 76mm post. This ensures the extension can slot in correctly.
2. Fit the Post Extension
Slide the 76mm Post Extension into the top of the existing post. Make sure it is seated firmly.
3. Tighten the Grub Screw
Use an Allen key (or compatible tool) to tighten the grub screw, clamping the extension securely into position. This prevents movement once the signage is mounted.
4. Insert the Cap
Place the cap or finial into the top of the extension to seal it off and provide a finished look.
5. Install Signage
With the extension in place, your posts are ready for signage.
Final Checks
Ensure the grub screw is tight and the extension cannot rotate or lift.
Confirm the post cap or finial is fitted securely.
Verify that the extension is aligned straight with the original post.
